Samuel Goodson Wickham and his wife Delilah take in the three orphaned children of this Cunningham. Fannie and Charlie change their names to Wickham. The older brother Ed does not. He continues to go by Ed Cunningham.

The said Sugg agrees to work the present year for the said Corban Neblett & Co. at and about their saw mill to do any thing which may be necessary in carryon said mill and for such services when rendered we the said Corban Neblett & Co. agrees to pay the said Sugg One Hundred & eighty dollars for his services is witness our hands & sgns.
