State of Tennessee
Humphreys County, County Court July Term 1857, present and preceding the Hon. A. J. Sanders County Judge (at which said court the following proceeding were heard (To wit).
A paper entering purporting to be the last will and testament of Abel Jackson, deceased was this day produced in open court, and these being no exceptions taken there to the due execution these of was proven by the oath of James Poyner and John Tounzen subscribing witnesses these to, therefore the court doth order that said will be recorded, and, Uriah Jackson, who was appointed executor in said will appeared in open court together with, James Poyer, John T. Winfrey, Allen Box and Robert Turner, his securities there to and entered into and acknowledged these bond in the sum of Ten thousand dollars payable and conditioned as the law which said bond was examined and approved by the court and so certified and ordered to be recorded and the said Uriah Jackson look upon himself the oath of Executor aforesaid as the law . Therefore, it is ordered by the court that letters testimony
NEXT SECTION OF WILL NOT READBLE. THE FIRST SECTION WHICH IS VISIBLE
.. and bequeath to my wife Theny Jackson her bed and bedstead and my house and farm that I now live on during her natural life or widowhood, and at her death or Marriage to be sold and the money for it equally divided amongst all my heirs. See 3rd. I will and bequeath that my negro property viz. Joe, Vilet, Cathrine & Henry be sold by my Executor to the highest bidder on a Twelve Months credit as soon after my death as practicable and the proceeds thereof divided as follows to my son Elijah Jackson an equal share and to Rebecca Carter her and her bodily heirs and equal share, to John Jackson an equal share to Nancy Reams an equal share to Sally Warren, I will and bequeath fifty dollars and to John Folks, and William Folks, after their mother Sally Warren receives fifty dollars for them to receive the balance of her share, so that them and her may have one childs part of my estate, To Daniel Jacksons heirs to have an equal share & to my son Uriah Jackson an equal share, to my daughter Mary Arnold an equal share and to my wife Theny Jackson an equal share with all my children. 4th I do will and bequeath that all my perishable property household and kitchen furniture and all my property of envy description be sold and the proceeds equally divided agreeable to the third section of my will. 5th and lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my son Uriah Jackson my Executor in witness where of I do this my will set my hand and seal. This April the 13th, 1857. Signed sealed and published in our presence and who have subscribed our name as witnesses in the presence of the Testator. Test James Poyner, John Townzen . Abel (his mark) Jackson.
My son William C. Jacksons name being let out of the above will I do will and bequeath that he the said William C. Jackson. Come in for a full share with all the rest of my children. This April the 15th, 1857.
